Like it or not, “monster phones” have become a big part of our lives. And while we’ve started to become accustomed with high-end 5-inch handhelds, if it’s one thing we’re yet to see that’s a budget-friendly “beast” with so-so specs.

Enter Samsung’s SHV-E270L, also known as the “Baffin”, a smartphone that’s been spotted at the FCC and is rumored to come soon to Korea. This big guy will have a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos processor under its hood, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and a 5-inch display. So, where are the so-so specs? Well, for starters, the screen will only sport a WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels).

Other sacrifices could be made in the RAM, camera or storage departments, while connectivity options should include Wi-Fi, LTE and NFC. These are all rumors and should be treated as such, but for the sake of full disclosure we should mention that there are also reports claiming the “Baffin” could break out the Korean borders and come to the States and Europe as the Galaxy Grand (model numbers SHV-E270S and SHV-E270K).
