It’s been less than a month since LG’s Optimus G has started selling, but it seems that the super-phone’s successor is already being cooked up. Not only that, but according to rumors over in Korea, LG’s native land, the Optimus G2 will be a major upgrade of with the first-gen device.

Among the speculated specs that leave us breathless there’s a 2 GHz quad-core processor from an unknown maker (hopefully Qualcomm), but also a full HD 1080p display and 4G LTE. Android 5.0 “Key Lime Pie” could wrap the whole package with a very nice bow, though the release of the next OS version is less up to LG and more up to Google.

There are still a whole lot of unknowns in the Optimus G2 equation, like the display’s size and so on and so forth, but hopefully we’ll be finding out more soon. After all, it’s not like LG will be releasing this tomorrow. Far from it, with the rumored ETA being “second half of 2013”, more exactly fall of next year.
