The Nexus Root Toolkit is the easiest way to unlock and root Nexus devices. On Monday, the tool was updated to version 1.6.0 which brings official support for the Nexus 4, Nexus 10, 3G Nexus 7 and Android 4.2 in general. The release notes also indicate this release “intelligently and selectively downloads the files it needs and always makes sure you are using the latest files available.” Another change requests users to individually select their device before choosing a build number. The hope is that users will not mistakenly mix up their device and build number. There are other more complicated changes to the toolkit as well, but just know it’s still just as easy to use as it ever was.
