As we had been expecting to happen, Verizon Wireless has begun shipping the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. In fact, a quick visit to the Verizon website and we can see the “will ship by” tag has been dropped and the pre-order button has been changed to “add to cart.” That said, the Galaxy Note 2 is priced at $299.99 on a two-year agreement or at $699.99 for those looking to avoid the commitment.

And just as a refresher, the Galaxy Note 2 is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz and 4G LTE connectivity. Other specs include a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720) HD Super AMOLED display, quad-core 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, NFC, 3100 mAh battery, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Bottom line, if you were looking for an oversized smartphone with Verizon Wireless — now seems like as good a time as any to make a purchase. Or at the very least, head on in to your local Verizon Wireless retail store and check out this behemoth of a smartphone in person.
