Iconfactory has just released a new version of its old Twitter app and calls the new version Twitterific 5. The app is available now from the App Store for half the amount of its regular price, $2.99. But before you decide against paying that amount — especially since there are other free Twitter apps available, you may want to continue reading and see why as of now, we’re going to say that the said amount is worthy of the app’s features and functionality.

First things first, this is a universal app, so you’ll be paying just a one time fee of $2.99 to install it on all your iOS devices. Feature-wise, you will appreciate the fact that the app has a unified timeline. This allows you to browse mentions and direct messages from a single view. There’s also a new theme panel that lets you tailor the way tweets are displayed on your device.

In addition, the app will also allow you to respond to tweets, change accounts or view conversation threads with minimum gestures.  We can go on and enumerate the app’s plethora of features but that might just bore. So instead we’d like you to go and check out what these features are via the iTunes App Store.

What we can say here is that, there maybe other Twitter apps available on the App Store. In fact we can name a one, Tweetbot which is by far one of the best if not the best Twitter client for iOS. But then it’s not too bad to check out other apps such as Twitterific especially if you’re getting tired of Tweetbot and even Twitter’s own iOS app.

For casual Twitter users, Twitterific will surely fits the bill; while power users on both Twitter desktop and mobile might find the app lacking a bit on some features, such as push notifications. But hey, there’s always some time for updates, right?

All that being said, you might want to grab the app now from the App Store. And tell us how you find the app after you’ve started using it.
