The global smartphone market is on the verge of a major change, with well- established names in the industry threatened by Chinese companies that aren’t awfully popular in the West. Huawei, Oppo and Xiaomi have all recently shown off or teased real “beasts” that look like they could put up a fight against Samsung’s Galaxy S devices, Apple’s iPhones or HTC’s flagships.
Now it’s ZTE’s turn to (unofficially) show us what it’s got in the pipeline, and we have to admit, it looks pretty exciting. The Nubia Z5 has been spotted in a low-quality pic that only lets us see the front of what’s most definitely a 5-inch “phablet”.
However, that’s enough to pique our curiosity, especially if we combine the image with the device’s rumored specs – a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, full HD panel, 2 GB of RAM and 13 MP rear-facing “shooter”.
That really does sound like a top-tier phone, but get this – it’s also only going to measure 7.6 mm in thickness. Dayum!
