BlackBerry Messenger 7 Now Out of Beta, BBM Voice and More

Research In Motion (RIM) today has just sent its Blackberry Messenger 7 mobile app out of beta and released its finished version into the BlackBerry App World. For those of you who can’t live without BBM, check out the update as it comes with several new features that will surely make you love using the app even more on your BlackBerry devices.

Topping the list of new features that BBM 7 brings into the table is BBM Voice which gives you the ability to switch to free VoIP chat on WiFi sans the need to leave text messaging or photo sharing while you’re in mid-session. This is better explained in the video demo included below.

Aside form BBM Voice, BBM 7 also brings in the following new features:

  • BBM upgrade notifications – BBM will notify you when there are updates to download straight from within the app
  • BBID Synchronization – your BBM profile, Groups and Contacts are linked to your BlackBerry ID
  • 16 Additional emoticons – even more choice for those times when words just aren’t enough.

To get the updated BBM app, check out the BlackBerry App World by simply following the via link below. Take note that the update may take 24 hours to appear on the BlackBerry App World. As of right now, we’re still seeing the old version, so check it out from to time then.
