High-end Windows smartphones might have not exactly taken off yet but if you’re on the lookout for a decent budget-friendly mid-ranger WP has you (mostly) covered. That’ll soon be the case for you Mexican gadget lovers too, because Telcel has something special prepped just for you.
The nation’s number one carrier is getting ready for the launch of the Nokia Lumia 505, a Mexico-exclusive device. This got leaked for the first time last week, and, while it’s still not official, a second leak basically confirms its existence beyond the shadow of a doubt (and a soon to happen release).
Though it has a similar name with the recently released Lumia 510, the 505 will not share many common points with the 4-incher. It will instead be a 3.5-incher with Windows Phone 7.8, an 800 MHz CPU (probably from the Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 family), an 8 MP rear-facing camera, 256 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of internal memory. So, mostly entry-level material there, although the cam and the 800 x 480 pix res Super AMOLED display definitely make it worthy of being called a mid-range device.
