Microsoft’s first tablet PC, the Surface RT, hasn’t exactly proven to be a hit yet but in all honesty, it hasn’t been available in very many stores until now. The moment of truth has finally come for the 10.6-incher, as two of the biggest retailers in the States have officially announced the tab’s selling start.
Staples already has the Surface RT on its official website and according to reports, brick and mortar stores have started to receive stock as well. Unfortunately, the hefty price hasn’t budged since October, so the tablet still starts at $499.
That’s for the 32 GB version, while the 64 GB model with an included touch cover goes for $699. There’s also a 32 GB variant of the model with a touch cover included up for grabs for $599, and as far as we can tell, there’s plenty of stock to go around for all three of the tabs.
Meanwhile, Best Buy has also announced it’ll be selling the Surface RT starting today (December 12), but only via the online store. BB’s retail locations will be offering Microsoft’s tablet from Sunday, December 16.
