Fuhu might not be a mainstream name when it comes to tablet manufacturing but if you haven’t heard of them, your children, nephews or nieces sure have. That’s because the company’s focus is coming up with kid-friendly gadgets, like the Nabi, Nabi 2 and Nabi Jr.
Now the Nabi family has just been enriched with a new member, called the XD. This is a 10-incher designed specifically for “tweens”, aka children between middle childhood and adolescence (8 to 12 years old).
However, there’s a chance some parents will fall in love with the XD too, considering it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (or at least a modified version of the OS) and it boasts a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU. Other juicy features include a 1,366 x 768 pix res IPS panel, NFC, 16 or 32 GB of internal memory, a 10-hour battery and an optional pad-folio and integrated silicone keyboard cover.
Set to go on sale in “late December”, the Fuhu Nabi XD will not be overly expensive either, going for $249 in the 16 GB variation and $349 in the 32 GB version.
