The end of the year is upon us, so there isn’t much happening in the tech world, but with CES 2013 scheduled to start on January 8, there’s a lot to look forward to. Huawei is one of the first companies to reveal a couple of products that’ll be on display in Las Vegas – the Ascend W1 and D2.
Both phones have been extensively leaked and discussed already, so it’s no shocker they’ll be getting formal introductions. However, the question that remains unanswered is when will the two start selling.
The Ascend W1 should probably get the go-ahead first as it’s been making the rumor rounds ever since October. The Windows Phone 8 device is expected to come with a 4-inch 800 x 480 pix res display, a dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait CPU, 512 MB of RAM and a 5 MP camera.
The D2 will probably have to wait until spring to see the light of day, but the Android Jelly Bean-based device may be worth the wait, as it’s supposed to come with a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core 1.5 GHz chip, a 13 MP camera and a 3,000 mAh battery.
