Audio experts Harmon Kardon have teamed up with Toshiba to create Satellite U845W, a powerful Ultrabook with unbeatable audio quality. The 14.4-inch ultrawide-HD TruBrite touch-screen display packs dual Odyssey3 drivers, packing robust sound and real bass response unlike any other comparably sized laptop or notebook available today.

The sound system was created especially for the Ultrabook. Audio engineers from Harmon worked closely with laptop designers from Toshiba to boost sound further than before on a laptop, creating a theater-like experience without any need for external speakers attached. Its amazing at the sound that emanates from this device, which is at less than a half-inch thick.

“This is the first Ultrabook that doesn’t require the user to attach external speakers to enjoy a movie, mp3 or streaming audio, said executive vice president of Harman and co-president of Harman Lifestyle and Infotainment. “The Harmon Kardon speakers were custom-designed for the Satellite Ultrabook to get the most of out of digital music files. The Satellite Ultrabook was built for beautiful sound.”

The Ultrabooks are made with third-generation Intel Core processors with Intel Rapid Start technology, making for a speedy response-time when powering on or down on the device. There’s a 500 GB built-in hard drive with 32GB SSD cache or a 256 solid-state drive option, three 3.0 USB ports, USB Sleep & Charge system and Toshiba’s Sleep & Music system.

The Satellite U845W is the first installment in a line of nine new Toshiba laptops equipped with HK sound that the companies are currently working on. The idea is to provide the ultimate multimedia laptop with touch screen and based on these specs, I’d say they’re getting pretty darn close — definitely the best we’ve seen out there.
