What do you get when you cross two ‘droids? Leaked images published by Slash Gear would answer that as an 18.1 megapixel Polaroid digi-cam, powered by Android and due out soon.
The Polaroid IM1836 is rumored to have a 3.5-inch touchscreen display on the back, a headphone input, HDMI outputs and a pop-up flash. Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, another rumor says the camera will be microSD-compatible. With this follow-up to their SC1630, Polaroid has potential to release the “world’s first compact interchangeable lens Android camera.” The rumor stems from a press image leaked from Polaroid Russia fan page (shown above), so please remain advised that this product is still in its ‘talk’ phase, although it seems like a perfect time to release a rival to Samsung’s Galaxy Camera.
