Basically everyone hates buying subsidized phones and tying themselves to lengthy carrier agreements, but what can you do? Well, I’ll tell you what you can do – buy a prepaid device and choose how long you want to use it.
Yeah, but prepaid handhelds are expensive, some of you will say. Usually correct, but not as close to the holidays as we are right now and when you choose to go through Virgin Mobile to get your new smartphone.
The small US carrier has a bunch of sweet deals on prepaid Android phones at the moment, all of which are set to run through the holidays and expire on January 3 or 7. The best deal is for the HTC EVO V 4G, which has been discounted with a whopping 100 bucks, from $250 to just $150.
If you need some extra power, you can go for the $330 Samsung Galaxy S2 4G (previously $370), while if all you’re interested in is budget friendliness the $39.99 (down from $49.99) LG Optimus Slider is the way to go.
In between there are the $200 Motorola Triumph ($80 off), the $150 Samsung Galaxy Reverb and the $100 HTC One V (both $50 off), as well as the $80 LG Optimus Elite (down from $130). Now, what to choose?
