Does anyone remember the ZTE Avid 4G that got leaked back in November and was said to be heading to MetroPCS “soon”? Well, the 4-incher is now official and it has already started selling in brick and mortar stores across the US.
As expected, the phone is not exactly a powerhouse, but it does hit that sweet pricing spot, being up for grabs for $149 with prepaid plans. Powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU (probably out of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon family), the Avid looks a lot like another MetroPCS/ZTE budget-friendly device, the Anthem.
This little puppy comes with 4G LTE speeds, as well as on-board Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 5 MP rear-facing camera with flash, 2.3 GB of internal memory, microSD support, and a 1,730 mAh battery. The 4-inch display is not half bad either, sporting a 800 x 480 pixels resolution, while the entire package weighs a decent 5.25 ounces and measures 0.47 inches thick.
