After a few miserable failures, namely the much too expensive Flyer, EVO View and Jetstream, HTC didn’t seem too keen to keep on pushing in the tablet market. One of the company’s bosses even went on record a while back and said HTC was reluctant to manufacture another Android-based tab in the close future.
But what Jeff Gordon didn’t mention at the time was whether or not the company was taking into account getting in on the Windows tablet fun. And, if we are to give credence to rumors, it seems HTC is not only thinking about launching a Windows slate, but is actually prepping two for 2013.
Oddly, none of the two will be looking to capitalize on the popularity of 10-inch tabs, but rather compete with the growingly successful 7-inchers and help create a new niche for 12-inchers. The duo will most likely be based on Windows RT, which is the same OS thought to hum inside the Nokia rumored tablet.
No words on when is HTC supposed to come out with these or what kind of prices will we be looking at, but one intriguing rumored detail is that the 7-incher will come with GSM voice support. Now that would be one humongous phone!
