On Friday, Facebook has released its latest stand-alone app for iOS – Poke. Yes, it’s one of the oldest features of Facebook which has been around for quite some time now. It’s pretty interesting why Facebook is launching such an app only now. And I can’t even think what value this app has after all. But hey, if you’re fond of “poking” your friends just to get their attention then go ahead and check out this app, Poke.
Using Facebook’s Poke app which incidentally is compatible with all iOS devices, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, you can poke or send a message, photo or video to your Facebook friends. The key here is that the message in your “poke” expires after 1,3,5 or 10 seconds. If you don’t like what your friends have sent you, you can always report it to Facebook.
After being “poked” by your friends, the app also lets you say where you are or see when your friends are taking screenshots, well for whatever reason it may serve you, it’s still listed as one the app’s main features.
Well, that’s pretty much sums up what Poke can do. Do you think you’ll have a use for this Facebook app?
