ASUS started to dish out this update initially in early October of 2012 and it gradually increased until today. As of December 21st, 2012, the Android 4.1 JellyBean update is available to download for all ASUS PadFone users.

This update seems to be hitting the Eastern countries like China, and Japan, then it started to spread westward. For users who are unaware of the ASUS PadFone series, like Google, it features the vanilla version of Android giving you the barebones experience.

In this update there is higher audio fidelity as well as stronger USB Internet Sharing to limit the chances of being disconnected whilst sharing data with another user.

The GPS is now optimized to function smoother and the camera includes a clearer focusing and overall better image quality. To round off the update, ASUS Studio has been added for image editing and smoother video playback.

If you are not seeing a notification pop-up informing you that an update is available, then go into ‘Settings’, then ‘Firmware’, and it should inform you that your device is ready for an update.
