Flickr, the popular Yahoo-owned photo sharing service has helped change the photo-sharing game. Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo, has announced that users can try out Flickr Pro for 3-months at a captivating price of free.
Flickr Pro normally costs $25 per year but people who are currently subscribed will get an additional 3-months added to their subscription.
With this trial, users are now granted the option to see all uploaded photos versus the last 200, download as well as upload original high-resolution photos and finally upload and playback unlimited HD videos. This is reach for Flickr and the attempt to draw in more users to the service.
The peculiar aspect to this story is the Instagram debacle which occurred this past week. This could be a strive to get users who were at first outraged by Instagram’s Terms of Service stating they could sell your uploaded photos, to try out Flickr Pro. After all the services are completely different and share some of the same features.
