Santa Claus should have normally filled your stockings with presents a few days ago but if for some reason you feel left out or neglected by good ol’ Saint Nick you might want to swing by Verizon’s website. Big Red doesn’t exactly hand out free high-end smartphones but the $99.99 HTC Windows Phone 8X certainly feels like a steal.

The 4.3-incher was definitely one hot gadget even when it used to cost a full 200 bucks (which was just a month ago), so now that it’s half that price it’s sizzling. Of course, you’ll still be asked to pen a new two-year carrier agreement with Verizon, but that hardly feels like a major sacrifice.

Besides the running of Windows 8, this big guy’s bag of surprises contains quite a lot of goodies – a 1,280 x 720 pix res S-LCD2 display, a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board storage, an 8 MP rear-facing snapper, and a 1,800 mAh battery.

No words on whether or not this is a limited time deal, but for safety you’ll want to get one of the discounted phones ASAP.
