The startup Silvercar has raised $11.5 million to bring their concept of allowing users a simple, cloud-based, luxurious car rental experience to life. To back track, Silvercar is providing their customers with only one car option, the Audi A4 and the company’s cloud-based data management system tracks the gas tank and will automatically charge users for their refills based on market prices. Best of all, you do not have speak with a car rental representative, since it’s handled through their easy-to-use mobile app.

This strategy is similarly presented with Uber, which is currently in 13 cities versus Silvercar only located in the Dallas/Fort Worth region for right now. Clearly, more companies are trying to execute this kind of concept but at the end of the day it comes down to money. There’s definite value in this idea but are you willing to spend more money for a more comfortable vehicle?
