Huawei Ascend P2 Specs Leak – Quad-Core 1.8 GHz CPU, 5-Inch Display, 3,000 mAh Battery

If one or two years ago Huawei was viewed by Westerners as an exotic Chinese brand capable of being competitive only in the low-end niche, the sky seems to now be the limit for the company that brought us two of CES 2013’s biggest stars – the Ascend D2 and Mate.

The duo is apparently not enough for Huawei’s world domination plans this year, so the high-end trifecta is set to be completed with the Ascend P2. This is not an official device (yet), but we do have a couple of leaked images that look like the real deal and a very believable spec sheet.

The hefty 3,000 mAh battery and 1.8 GHz quad-core Hisilicon K3V2 are probably the highlights of that spec sheet, though Huawei shouldn’t be at all embarrassed with the 2 GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and 13 MP rear-facing camera of the P2.

The 5-incher will however sport a 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution, which doesn’t sound that hot, and feature a measly 8 GB of on-board storage (albeit expandable via microSD). No availability and pricing info has been revealed, but we should definitely keep an eye out for this giant at MWC next month.
