While we never expected Samsung’s ATIV Odyssey to be a powerhouse, the WP8 mid-ranger did make the news headlines more than once in the last few months. We first picked up on a leaked image starring the 4-incher in November, while a few weeks ago we received (unofficial) word on the specs and features.
Sammy predictably went and made the handheld official during CES, but there were still a few key details left out, namely pricing and the exact release date. We have no official word on that yet, but, according to the always informed and reliable folks at @evleaks, the Odyssey is set to start shipping on January 24 (next Thursday).
That’s in line with Samsung’s promise of making the device available “weeks” after CES, so our guess is that we should mark the date in our calendars and keep our eyes peeled on Big Red.
If you missed Odyssey’s official intro, you may want to know the phone is going to feature a 800 x 480 pix res display, a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU, a 5 MP rear-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of on-board storage and a 2,100 mAh battery.
