Voltaic recently launched its USB Touchlight, which is great to use indoor, outdoor, or just about anywhere. While this light can be used indoors, consumers might find it far more useful outdoors for things like camping, hiking, or emergency preparedness.
The Voltaic Touchlight is not simply waterproof, but it’s completely submersible as well. The light is made from durable aluminum and has a patent-pending design that lets you toggle on, off, and brightness with just a press of the lens.
The Toughlight is equipped with a bright, wide-angle Cree LED bulb that goes from 50 Lumens at its lowest brightness to 175 Lumens at its highest brightness. With the included extension cable, you can hang it like a pendant light to illuminate a tent or small room. If you want to use the Voltaic Touchlight as a traditional reading light, there’s an included a flex cable just for that purpose. The construction has threaded caps on the cables to make sure they won’t detach or tear from use.
The Touchlight is USB powered, so you can purchase one of Voltaic’s USB battery packs or simply use your own. The Toughlight can run up to 20 hours on the low setting or 4.5 hours on the high setting with a 3000 mAh battery. This compact 4 ounce light is only 1 5/8 inches in diameter by 1 5/8 inches long.
The Voltaic Toughlight will be available again in March 2013 for $35. Visit Voltaicsystems.com to sign up for in-stock notification.
