Pushing consumers one small step closer to an automated home life a la the Jetsons, Securify’s Almond+ touchscreen router and smart home hub now has a Kickstarter page.

This spiffy device promises to bring wireless, affordable home automation at the ridiculously low cost of just $99.  Aside from being a super-fast router with 1.76 gbps wi-fi, the device will be packaged with existing automation technologies Z-Wave and Zigbee, which will provide sensors as well as heat and light controls to run your smart home right out the box.  It’ll be integrated with your smartphone too, be it Android or iPhone, so you can finally shut the lights off and adjust your thermostat without having to get up from bed.

Personally I’d love to see this bad boy attached to a Rube Goldberg machine that makes your breakfast for you in the style of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.  Alas, such an addition is likely only available to those with way too much time and/or money on their hands.  Oh well… I suppose this will have to do.
