Just yesterday, I did a quick write-up about Twitter CEO Dick Costolo revealing a new looping video app, Vine, intended for use in Twitter posts. Speculations were correct in assuming that it was a glimpse of what was soon to be made available to the public; just unsure as to how ‘soon’ that may have been.
Well, today, Thursday, Co-founder of Vine, Dom Hofmann tweeted that his video sharing service will be launching today. Read the tweet below:

Hofmann on his company’s blog writes “Posts on Vine are about abbreviation — the shortened form of something larger. They’re little windows into the people, settings, ideas and objects that make up your life.”
Although Vine has already been acquired by Twitter, Hofmann notes that you will not need to have a Twitter account to use his video creation and sharing application. It is available for free, right now for iPhone and iPod Touch.
