Wireless innovator Ruckus unveiled two new Wi-Fi improvements today: SmartWay™ and BeamFlex+™.
The new tech will improve the performance of mobile devices and traffic over Smart Wi-Fi networks and simplify their administration, according to the press release. BeamFlex+ will use Adaptive Antenna Technology to bring expanded coverage up to 8x, on top of a 3x increase in performance range.
Ruckus SmartWay is new software that, per the PR, “not only simplifies the administration and optimization of service discovery traffic, such as Apple Bonjour and UPnP protocols over Smart Wi-Fi networks, it also supports advanced facilities to restrict or “fence” these services to a given access point, group of access points or a particular geographic area.”
BeamFlex+ is currently available at no extra cost for all Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi access points that integrate dual-polarized adaptive antenna systems. SmartWay will be available in Q2 of 2013 and can be tested using Ruckus ZoneFlex systems after a request for a beta software upgrade.
