Carbon for Android has had a long history. This application was once expected to be the best third-party client ever released for Android. However, bouts of silence from the developer led many to believe Carbon was nothing more than vaporware. Well I’m here to tell you it isn’t vaporware. It’s real software that you can download from Google Play at this very instant.

The Carbon for Android Twitter page has been really buzzing over the past couple days. On Saturday, Carbon started teasing an imminent release. A release candidate was made available to a select number of testers in an effort to find an neutralize the last few bugs. There is a problem though. Upon starting the app on my Nexus 7, the app said Carbon is not supported on tablets. Huh?

After all the months of teasing and broken promises, not launching with tablet support is frankly one of the most ill-conceived things I can possibly think of. I’d imagine the public will have a similar reaction. For now Falcon Pro remains king.
