As of late, it seems that BlackBerry is going through more changes than a kid sister in high school. With a hyped new flagship smartphone announced, then sold-out in the UK within its launch week and their Q10 now pushed back ‘eight to ten weeks’ upsetting some U.S. supporters, they’ve got the right idea but are lacking the necessary traction to bring their goals to fruition.

Perhaps two new editions to their team, announced Thursday morning is just what the company needs to succeed. BlackBerry now introduces Dick Lynch and Bert Nordberg to their twelve-person board of directors.

“We are pleased to add the talent and industry knowledge of these respected executives to our Board,” commented Board Chair Barbara Stymiest. “We are looking forward to their contributions as we continue to drive for long-term shareholder value and seek opportunities to leverage the extraordinary BlackBerry 10 platform launched last week.”

Richard “Dick” Lynch is president of FB Associates, LLC and previously the EVP and Chief Technology Officer for Verizon Communications Inc. since 2007 and he was the EVP and CTO of Verizon Wireless and its predecessors since 1990.

Bert Nordberg is Chairman of Vestas Wind Systems, A/S (Denmark) and director on the Board of Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA) (Sweden.) He was Chairman of Sony Mobile from May through December 2012 and was President and CEO of Sony Ericsson from October 2009 through May 2012.
