Samsung has built itself quite the reputation in the high-end sector of the smartphone market lately, but that doesn’t mean the Koreans don’t have you covered in case you want something a little more modest and cheaper than the S3.

Quite on the contrary, with the Galaxy family basically accommodating every possible budget. Don’t trust us? How about if we tell you you’re soon going to be able to buy a Sammy gadget for just 100 bucks off contract in the US?

Granted, the Galaxy Discover is not going to break any performance records, but it is quite the Speedy Gonzales… for $100. The 3.5-incher packs a 480 x 320 pix res display, an 800 MHz Cortex-A5 CPU, Android 4.0 ICS, a 3.15 MP camera, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. All in a 122 grams package measuring 11.5 mm in thickness.

Not too shabby, eh? Now don’t be expecting this little guy to land on any major carrier. Instead, it seems Straight Talk and Net10 will soon be selling the Discover on prepaid plans. The exact release date is kept secret, but it shouldn’t be long now, so be prepared.
