The Pokemon Company has come up with a way to let the public watch dozens of Pokemon episodes without any strings attached. Today, the company released the Pokemon TV app for iOS and Android. This app is as straightforward as they come. For the low price of nothing, you can stream past episodes of the Pokemon TV show whenever you want. There are no ads, nothing to sign up, and it’s all legal.
It’s a shame an app that offers so much for nothing in return is such a rarity. Usually with television shows, networks find a way to prevent large quantities of episodes from being offered online for free. Even if the networks feel generous enough to let you watch full seasons in a web browser, they’ll almost certainly pass on creating an app for that purpose.
Pokemon TV contains episodes that are broken down into the different regions the main characters travel between. The Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova episodes are mostly all there. There will also be special videos that promote Pokemon movies.
The user interface is very easy to understand. Episodes can be scrolled through just like we’ve seen in the Netflix application. The video quality is acceptable, but I haven’t seen anything that can be considered HD. Overall, I think this is a pretty great application. It’s perfect for those who want to refresh their Pokemon knowledge. Just be sure to be conservative about watching episodes on a mobile network. Something like this has a tendency to eat through data very quickly.
