Acer is a pretty respected name in today’s tablet world but when it comes to smartphones, the Taiwanese have never really shined the brightest. And yet they’re still trying to leave a mark — most recently, with their Liquid E1 and Liquid Z2.
The smartphone duo is by no means high-end, but it will have an important ace up its sleeve – budget-friendly pricing. According to inside sources, the E1 will go for between €199 and €229, while the Z2 will be worth €99 to €129. All in Europe, naturally.
For those prices, you might not expect a lot, but at least the Liquid E1 is no pushover. The 4.5-incher features an IPS 960 x 540 pix res panel, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a dual-core 1 GHz CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, microSD support, a 5 MP rear-facing camera and a 1,760 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the Z2 is far more modest, but for €100 it still gets the job done. Meaning it comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, Android 4.1, a 1 GHz single-core SoC, 512 MB of RAM and a 1,300 mAh battery.
Expect the two phones to be further detailed and shown off during next week’s MWC, when we should hear some specific ETAs as well.
