Available ever since September 2012 on Sprint, Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is now up for grabs via Virgin Mobile USA as well. There are two reasons why you should pick the new flavor of the phone over the old one – a software upgrade and excellent pricing off-contract.
We’ll start with the latter and tell you the Victory goes for just $299.99 with prepaid plans. Not too shabby, especially when you can get unlimited texts, voice calls and data for just $55 a month via Virgin.
Now, for the other thing. Whereas Sprint still offers the Victory with on-board Android 4.0 ICS, Virgin Mobile has a buttery smooth model with 4.1 Jelly Bean. Needless to say, that’s almost as good as it gets nowadays in the Android décor, with the UI being smoother than ever.
As for the rest of the specs, they barely keep the Victory afloat in the mid-range niche, but for $300 they’re awfully nice. The 4-inch display boasts an 800 x 400 pixels resolution, while beneath the hood you get a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and a 2,100 mAh battery.
