Although neither the HTC Windows Phone 8X, nor the 8S can be called flagship devices, it seems the company is keen to go forward with the same strategy relating to WP8. The Tiara is the supposed internal name of HTC’s upcoming mid-ranger with Windows Phone 8, according to a newly emerged rumor.
The 4.3-incher is in no way an official device, but several sources are confirming its existence, so we’re guessing some truth has to be hiding there. With a WVGA Super LCD2 panel, this new guy will actually sit lower than the Windows Phone 8X on the mobile tech food chain, but higher than the 8S.
Other suspected features include a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of on-board storage, an 8 MP rear-facing snapper, a 1.6 MP secondary cam and a 1,800 mAh battery. The only upgrade compared with the Windows Phone 8X will come in the software department, as the Tiara is allegedly going to run WP8 GDR2, an overhaul of the existent Microsoft mobile OS.
No words on pricing yet, while the release is expected to happen sometime in May.
