During the MWC Developer Day on Wednesday, Samsung unveiled their ‘Wallet’ application. Functioning as a digital ticket and coupon management system, the earliest stage of the app works and even appears uncannily similar to Apple’s Passbook app.
Wallet will launch with an open API to integrate the UI with other apps. The application will allow users to save event tickets, boarding passes, coupons and other related items. At launch, US partners will include Walgreens, MLB, Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com and Lufthansa.
It’s unsure as of now, though it seems Samsung’s new app will serve as a platform for their NFC payment system, in the works with Visa.
Currently the app is available in beta version for developers, though interested individuals can sign up now before its March 7th launch.
