More than a month after introducing its online storage and collaboration service, MediaFire has rolled out some additional major updates aimed to simplify online collaboration. The update also brings in a new file management home-screen, simplified photo management, and an updated online document editor. This document editor now supports Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Text and Source Code.
Specifically, the new features of MediaFire include:
Redesigned “My Files” Page: New interface simplifies file management, sharing, and uploading
Streamlined Photo Viewer: New photo management interface lets users quickly view, share and manage all of their photos
New Document Editor Support: Quickly collaborate and edit Word and Excel documents, securely and safely through your browser
Native Text Editor: Edit source code and text files using MediaFire’s new native text editor
For those who have not used MediaFire yet, it’s an online storage provider similar with Dropbox and SugarSync. MediaFire on the other hand, has more free storage offering for users. Free subscription will get you 50GB of storage and additional storage will cost you from a $1.50 a month to $24.50 a month.
MediaFire also has apps for iOS and Android that make it easy to access your accounts and grab your files from the cloud server using your mobile devices. The service has 100K signees during its first week of going live.
