BlackBerry 10 Tablet Confirmed for 2013, PlayBook to Get BB 10 OS Upgrade As Well

The BlackBerry Playbook was for a long time one of the overlooked greats of the tablet market, never quite managing to fulfill its huge potential. Call it bad timing, bad luck or maybe overpricing.

Fortunately, BB has apparently not given up on tabs just yet, with plans of a BlackBerry 10 slate being reportedly in full swing. The intel comes from a company executive, so you can say it’s official, but hold on to your horses, because no information other than it’ll come “before the end of the year” has been detailed just yet.

Will the thing be a budget 7-incher to compete against the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fires? Or a crazy high-end 10-incher to take on Apple’s iPads? We have no idea, but we’re definitely excited.

And if you’re still not ready to give up on the OG PlayBook, here’s one more piece of good news – the 7-incher will be upgraded to BlackBerry 10 OS “soon”. Is BB back from the dead or what?
