Unveiled just a couple of days ago at MWC in Barcelona, Nokia’s newest Windows Phone 8 devices are already up for pre-order in UK. Both the Lumia 520 and 720 seem to fall into the budget-friendly phone niche, but shipping is to only start on April 1, so you might want to wait a couple more weeks to see what else comes out.
Several online stores offer slightly different deals for the two, but on the whole you’ll probably find the 520 listed at £170 ($258) and the 720 at £250 ($380). Both prices are valid for SIM-free versions in black and white (the 520) and only in black (the 720).
No other ETAs have been announced for the phones’ rollout outside UK, but we know T-Mobile US is to get the Lumia 520 as the 521.
As far as specs go, the two are very similar, packing 1 GHz dual-core CPUs, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of on-board storage. The Lumia 720 sports a larger 4.3-inch display (the 520 is a 4-incher), as well as a heftier 2,000 mAh battery (vs. 1,430 mAh) and a 6.7 MP rear-facing camera (compared with a 5 MP shooter on the 520).
