Mobile World Congress has been officially been over since last Thursday. We were introduced to some awesome mobile electronics to salivate over for the next few weeks but it was one that trumped them all — the best in show.
At the 2013 MWC, the “Best Mobile Device” award went out to HTC’s newly introduced One smartphone. Despite having it’s own dedicated launch even in New York City, the HTC flagship made it’s way to Barcelona and won the hearts of spectators and apparently TechRadar MWC Awards.
The One also won “Best Phone” by the judges, while Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z won best in the tablet class. And Mozilla’s open source OS took home the “People’s Choice” trophy, even though it’s available on about two hardly impressive (and kind of ugly looking) phones.
In my opinion, the HTC One is quite deserving of their medals and by far the most deserving of my excitement — at least the most of anything in a while. It’s the phone that I’m saving up money for and I am excited to see it’s official roll-out. How do you feel about the One taking home the “Best Mobile” award — are the judges right on or blinded by the ultrapixel?
