More news from the robots-taking-over-the-service-industry front: Bartendro, an automated cocktail mixing device, has a Kickstarter campaign. It’s an ultra-precise liquid dispenser running via Raspberry PI that’s accessible wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet. Attach a breathalyzer, ID scan, and credit card swipe and you’ve got yourself a complete robo-bartender. But can he listen to your troubles, too?
The Bartendro team breaks it down:
Bartendro is available in a variety of sizes, ranging from $299 to $5,000 Kickstarter rewards: the ShotBot, which dispenses one liquid shot, and the more impressive Bartendro 3 (three different liquids), 7 (seven), and 15 (I’ll let you guess).
You can also theoretically use Bartendro for:
pancake/crepe bot
coffee bot
juice bot
garden watering bot
aquarium nutrient dosing
automated chemistry/biology experiments
recirculating pump for fast infusions
new foodie creations
beer brewing / wine making
I’m sure Walter White will be picking up a few, too. For, you know, science. Donate to the Kickstarter here.
