Overshadowed by its slightly less impressive (almost) twin brother, the Sony Xperia ZL is finally enjoying some alone time in the limelight. The non-waterproof 5-incher has made its debut in Russia and Australia in the past 24 hours and is expected really soon in India as well.
As usual, Russian pricing is a bit off, so Xperia ZL-cravers there are asked to pay 27,490 rubles for the off-contract phone. That translates into around $893, which is more than a pretty penny.
Meanwhile, people down under can get the ZL for a much fairer $699.99 outright. Unlike in Russia, where the ZL is available via Sony’s official store, Aussies can only get the thing from MobiCity for now.
Phase three of the Xperia ZL release is to take the globetrotter in India, where it’ll sell for Rs. 35,990 ($690, give or take) come March 12. The Z will be up for grabs there too in five days, but for an extra Rs. 3,000 ($750 in total).
Still no words on the exact release dates of the Z/ZL duo in America, but stay tuned and we’ll be keeping you in the loop.
