Driving buzz away from the soon-to-be unveiled Samsung Galaxy S4 is no easy task, but if there’s anyone who can do it, it’s Motorola Google. With less than 72 hours to go until GS4’s official announcement, someone accidentally (yeah, right) spilled the beans on the upcoming X Phone’s specs.
This is not the first time we’re hearing about the mysterious X, but the timing of the new rumor is suspicious. As a reminder, the X was said to be a Nexus-like 5-inch phone with an “edge-to-edge” Full HD screen, Kevlar body and Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie expected to be introduced by Google sometime in May.
The new story tweaks a few things, but keeps everything very, very exciting. The X Phone is now said to sport a 4.7-inch 1,080p panel, as well as an Nvidia Tegra 4i processor, a 16 MP rear-facing camera and a 5 MP front snapper with light sensor and eye scrolling features.
There’s nothing on the software or things like RAM and battery capacity, but it’s definitely enough to keep us interested. The Tegra 4i chip is expected to take things up a couple of notches compared with last year’s Tegra 3, while those cameras sound simply mind-boggling.
Of course, there’s no way to know if this info is legitimate, so we should probably just wait and see what happens before getting too excited.
