We all know who’s going to be the star of tomorrow’s Samsung special press event in New York, but, besides how will the Galaxy S4 look, it remains to be seen if there’s also going to be an S4 mini unveiled.
Later in the year, Sammy has other high-end plans, including the likely unveilings of a Galaxy Note 3 and… a Galaxy S3 refresh. Wait, what? What S3 refresh? Isn’t that what the S4 and S4 mini are supposed to be?
It appears not and rumor has it Sammy wants to spread its eggs in even more baskets during 2013. This alleged S3 follow-up is to come with a better display than its predecessor, wireless charging and a larger 2,400 mAh battery, according to notorious Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin.
Murtazin is a man with a decent track record with such rumors, but he has messed up a couple of stories relating to the original GS3 last year, so we’re still on the fence about trusting this report. It could be real or not, but however it plays out we’re certainly hoping Samsung won’t be bringing an S4, S4 mini, Galaxy Note 3 and S3 Plus this year. Diversity and choice are nice and all, but enough is enough already.
