Despite what “sources” told us a while back, Nokia had a very timid MWC showing and delayed the “Catwalk” and “Laser” intros. But fret not, as it appears the two high-end Lumia phones are still headed our way, with official announcements right around the corner.
If you remember, the Catwalk was said to be T-Mobile’s version of the Lumia 920, while Laser was going to put Nokia on the map with Verizon. That’s still the case nowadays, but we have more intel on the Big Red-bound handheld known also as the Lumia 928.
Rumor has it the big guy will come rocking a sturdy and elegant aluminum body (no surprises there), a PureView camera with xenon and LED flash (nice!) and 4G LTE speeds. The 928 is also said to resemble the 720 more than the 920 in terms of design, with a lighter and thinner profile.
The color options will include all the usual, from black to cyan, while the CPU, RAM, battery capacity and so on are for now kept under wraps. The most likely ETA is mid-April, with pricing set to start at $200 with contracts and $550 outright. Sounds interesting, but does Nokia have what it takes to be a real challenger for Samsung, Sony and BlackBerry?
