21st century people in general and tech enthusiasts in particular tend to always be unhappy with what they have and look towards the future for something better. Case in point, even if Sony’s Xperia Z, HTC’s One and Samsung’s Galaxy S4 are by far the most exceptional devices in Android history, a lot of folks are holding off for the highly anticipated but still unconfirmed Motorola X Phone.
The X has been in the rumor mill for a good couple of months already and every source talked about a single non-Nexus but Nexus-like handheld. However, based on new tips, the X could turn out to be an entire family of high-end devices.
At least three members of the family are to be released during 2013 – the phones currently codenamed “Yeti”, “Sasquatch” and “Ghost”. The first two monsters are slated for AT&T exclusive releases, while the third will hit all important US carriers.
Of course, we have no way to know if this story is accurate and if all three (or even one) will end up being the X or part of the X line. But, assuming the leak is trustworthy, the Ghost is to come packing a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, a 720p display and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
That doesn’t sound too hot, but maybe the Yeti and Sasquatch, whose specs are a big mystery at the moment, will be “scarier”.
