There’s no source of leaks that we trust more than the Twitter user @evleaks. The guy (or gal) has had a few misses of late, but he still holds an awesome track record of revealing real, unreleased devices before anyone else.

The latest “evleaked” phone comes from ZTE and is said to carry the model number V987, as well as the market name Grand X Quad. Though it is clearly not as exciting as the recently launched Grand S and Grand Memo, this is a device to keep an eye out for due to a number of reasons.

Firstly, it has a 5-inch “gapless” display, meaning the bezel is very thin, so there’s a lot more usable screen real estate than usual. Also, there’s a pretty neat 2,500 mAh battery packed inside a very slim body.

And that ticker should hold its own for several days in a row, given the processor powering the Grand X Quad is a quad-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek unit, known for its power-saving abilities. On top of it all, there’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1 GB of RAM and an 8 MP rear-facing camera, all above-par features for what we expect to be a fairly cheap handheld.

The release date is unknown, but our guess is you should look for an official announcement in the news as soon as next week and a sales start during April.
