Smartwatches may seem quite futuristic, though we bet they’ll be commonplace before you can say ‘flip phone.’ Apple was rumored to have an iWatch in the works, as was Google, Samsung is currently working on one and now LG is tossed into the mix.
With a report from Korea Times on Friday, a trusted source close to the South Korean tech company, we can now expect a smart wrist watch from LG. The company will either the Android or Firefox OS as a platform for the watch, which seems to be currently undecided.
“There is of course the fundamental question of whether smart wristwatches will sell like smartphones. Price-range will also need to be thoroughly discussed,” the source commented.
In addition, the source said that LG has a wearable smart device of another kind in the works as well: an eye glasses model. Similar to what we’ve seen with Google’s Glass project, the LG insider states that the company already has the technology in making display panels that can bend and are working on completely flexible prototypes to fit into a wristwatch.
