Although the Series 9 ultrabooks have been available ever since April 2012, it’s pretty difficult to find a competing laptop better than Samsung’s one year-olds. Or rather it was difficult, because now there is a fellow much better than the Series 9 – the upgraded Series 9 Premium.

Samsung is charging a whopping 1,900 bucks for the new guy, and, while we understand not everyone can afford that, if you can, go for it! Don’t even think about it, just cough up the dough and get it over with!

Everything about the Series 9 Premium screams… well, premium quality, starting with the bumped up 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution (aka Full HD) 13.3-inch display. Aside from that, you get a state-of-the-art 1.9 GHz Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge CPU, 4 GB of RAM, a whopping 256 GB SSD (!!!), Intel HD Graphics 4000 and Windows 8 Pro.

The 44 WHr battery is rated at 8 hours of autonomy on a single charge, the keyboard is elegant and backlit, while the connectivity and ports assortment is to die for – USB 3.0, USB 2.0, micro HDMI, mini VGA, multi-media card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Gigabit LAN.

Finally, whatever we’d have to say about the Series 9 Premium’s design would do the ultrabook a great injustice, so we’ll only mention a couple of cold numbers – 2.56 pounds weight, 0.51 inches depth. Oh, if I was a rich boy…
