Samsung has been busy, as always, since the beginning of this new year, refreshing all of it’s different families and subfamilies of phones and tablets, but on the whole there have only been two high-profile launches so far in 2013.
The Galaxy S4 is likely to follow GS3’s rich legacy and consolidate Sammy’s leadership position over the high-end smartphone sector, while the Note 8.0 is the best chance Samsung has at competing against the highly successful iPad mini and Nexus 7.
But we know there’s more to come this year and one of the most exciting future Samsung gadgets might be an 8-inch tablet with a Full HD screen. This would basically be a top of the line option, like the Note 8 but without S Pen support.
We’re unsure what the slate will be called (and if it is in fact real), but SamMobile’s always informed sources claim it’ll be a follow-up to the 2011 Galaxy Tab 7.7. Aside from the panel’s resolution, we know nothing about specs but we can definitely start dreaming. Thus, we can imagine how a full-HD tab might look like with Sammy’s brand new Exynos 5 Octa CPU beneath the hood.
And with 2 GB of RAM. And Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Or, who knows, maybe even 5.0 Key Lime Pie if it’s not going to see daylight before fall.
