Sony’s mobile department has a lot on its plate right now, with the Xperia Z and ZL flagships not quite global devices yet and the SP and L reportedly slated for April releases. But that can’t stop the Japanese to look towards the future, which sounds… crowded.

A report going around the web a couple of days back said that there will be three Sony phones unveiled in the summer, one called Xperia A or Dogo, one UL or Gaga and the last one Togari. Now we’re hearing about three other handhelds, none of which will probably be spearheads, but all of which could make it big.

First up, we have a 5-inch Xperia Cybershot, codenamed that way because it will be focused on taking the absolute best snapshots and videos. We don’t have any specific specs just yet, but the cam’s sensor size is said to be almost equal to Nokia Pureview 808 and Carl Zeiss optics.

Moving on, there will apparently be a 5-inch Xperia for music buffs as well. This is dubbed Xperia Walkman for now and should come with an integrated amplifier chip and high-end (ish) specs all-around.

Finally, Sony is said to be prepping a “direct iPhone competitor”. And by that we mean it will go against the latest supersized fashion in the Android décor and instead rock a small form factor and screen size. Pretty intriguing!
